What is MGNREGA (MANREGA)?

MGNREGA stands for Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act. It guarantees 100 days of wage employment every financial year to rural households whose adult members are willing to do unskilled manual work.

To receive work under this scheme, you must have a valid MGNREGA Job Card.


Eligibility for MGNREGA Job Card:

  • Must be an Indian citizen.

  • Age should be 18 years or above.

  • Must reside in a rural area.

  • Must be willing to do unskilled manual work.


 How to Apply for MGNREGA Job Card:

Method 1: Offline (Through Gram Panchayat)

  1. Visit your local Gram Panchayat office.

  2. Ask for the MGNREGA Job Card Application Form (Form 1) – it’s free.

  3. Fill in the form with:

    • Name, Age, Gender

    • Family members’ details

    • Aadhaar number (if available)

    • Bank account details

    • Passport-sized photo

  4. Submit the form at the Panchayat office.

  5. After verification, the Job Card is issued within 15 days.

Method 2: Online (Available in Some States)

  1. Visit your state’s rural development or MGNREGA portal.

  2. Look for “Job Card Registration” or “Apply for MGNREGA Job Card.”

  3. Fill in the required details and upload documents.

  4. Submit the application online.

How to Download MGNREGA Job Card (PDF):

  1. Go to the official MGNREGA portal:
    https://nrega.nic.in

  2. Click on “Job Card” or go directly to:

  3. Select the following:

    • State

    • District

    • Block

    • Panchayat

  4. Click “Proceed”.

  5. You will see a list of Job Card holders in your area.

  6. Find your name and click on it to view your full Job Card details.

  7. Click “Print” or “Download” to get the PDF.

  • Passport size photo
